  There is confusion over the date and place of death for this James Jameson. E.O. Jameson has him dying 25 Sep 1819, which is unlikely given his daughter Sarah O. Jameson was born in 1823 (various census' etc.).    There are burial records (Seaview Cemetery, Rockland Co., ME) for a James Jameson, b.1772 d.1861 (and 1850 census records), burred along with his daughter "Jane" (1809-186?), that would seem logical, apart from the location of Rockland, Knox Co., and that the daughter Sarah was living with Randall (maternal relatives) in Lincoln Co., ME, in 1850 (census), prior to her 1853 marriage.    We have chosen to list this James with the 1861 burial information, as it is reasonable and there is no other record of any other possible James of that birth period, in Maine.
